When most people think of gummy vitamins, they don’t realize that the gummy texture often comes from gelatin-a substance made by boiling animal bones, skin, and connective tissue.
For decades, the supplement and candy industries have relied on it, but the truth is, gelatin is neither necessary nor ethical.
From a health perspective, gelatin offers no real nutritional value beyond low-quality protein, and it can sometimes be contaminated with unwanted residues such as heavy metals, viruses, antibiotics, hormones, from industrial farming.
For animals, the cost is heartbreaking. Gelatin production is tied directly to factory farming and slaughterhouses, industries responsible for immense suffering.
And for the planet, the impact is heavy. Animal agriculture drives deforestation, water waste, and greenhouse gas emissions. Continuing To use gelatin in products only adds to this environmental burden.
The good news? We no longer need it. Today, there are plant-based alternatives like pectin and agar that create the same chewy, enjoyable texture without harming our health, animals or the earth.
At ethical Life, we’ve made a clear choice: no gelatin ever!
We proudly make our vegan gummies without gelatin because doing better shouldn’t come at a cost to life or the planet.
